Italian Renaissance (episode 3)
Italian Renaissance and the Northern Renaissance Differences ... https://www.iss.k12.nc.us/.../Italian%20Renaissance%20and%20the%20Northern%20Re...
Italian Renaissance only happens in Italy. It was depicted as more fierce, idealizing gods, showing how a perfect life should be. They also focus more on art during the Greece and Rome empire.
There were many artists during that era, which are very famous for now, for example, Piero Della Francesca, Raphael, Micheal Angelo, and my choice, Leonardo DaVinci.
Leonardo DaVinci was an amazing artist which merged art and science together. Mona Lisa was the most famous among all. This painting makes me wonder, what actually does the painting is all about. She has a mysterious smile, eyes were not sure where she is looking at. very dull and mysterious ambiance along with the background. Isn't it weird that all of a sudden she is portrayed behind mountains with shimmers of light?
This painting was to be a patron of a merchant for his beloved wife. Leonardo was a very detailed man that captures even the slightest details was is work. Like Mona Lisa, her secretive smile as if she was reacting to the cheeky artist.

Northern Renaissance ( episode 4)

The northern Renaissance happens outside of Italy but it is still within Europe. What is different from the Italian Renaissance is their subject model. Mostly works in that era were depicted in religious content. They do not idealize humanism but focus on colour and detail.
My artist model for the Northern Renaissance is Albrecht Durer. He was the first artist that brought Italian Renaissance style into the Northern part of Europe (Nuremberg).

| Adoration of Trinity |
His Adoration of the Trinity is composed of multi-layered figures including kings, popes, saints, and peasants all floating on clouds as they praise the images of Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit. The perspective of the painting places the viewer at the same high level above a landscape that includes a self-portrait of the artist at the bottom right of the picture.
Four Apostles was painted as a gift to the city of Nuremberg. From left to right the Saints are - John, Peter, Paul and Mark.
It is a world in which portraits and mythological scenes have largely usurped religious ones, or else made religion appear a little more earthbound.
