Diversity (Paragraph 1 fourth line)

Identity is not formed around and dominated by one central variable such as race. Identity is formed within a complex matrix of many variables, including gender, sexuality, ethnicity, class, religion, community and nation.

People who accept diversity will find internal differences within the context of their own community.

Example of Artist: Lyle Ashton Harris.
Advocates people should pay attention to "this specific history and experience of African-American and the unique sensibilities and culture that arise from that experience" (respect every individual)
