Art Theory : BVA 313 - 08/04/2019 (Proposal Presentation)
In Addition to my previous PowerPoint
1.Laura Perez: Loneliness
Found this in a website that uses illustration to show the diversity in nowadays society. Along with all other illustrators, I found this work relate more to what I intend to share.
With such a rich selection of illustration representing diversity, it’s hard to imagine a time when white men in business suits and women showed merely as housewives, were the only characters in illustrated ads from the 50s and 60s.
Our world looks different today and I can count on our illustrators to deliver relevant, up-to-date content that reflects the world as it is.
2. Vik Muniz: Marat (Sebastiao) 2008
The artist inspiration came when the world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho in Rio de Janeiro, is from the artist home country.
Muniz is a Brazilian born New Yorker, work on the art between 2007 and 2010.
He recreated the iconic painting, The death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David, by using trash collected from the dump.
This reflects his arguments on ethics regarding the poorer segments of society. Picture of Garbage is political.
My Experiment
Each of the experiment depicts a person wearing a different outfit.
The subject is on Cinderella from a different country, despite the differences, the similarity of the hierarchy status is depicted on their clothing.
