- I enjoy producing my art in mark making.
What is mark making? (Tate, n.d.)
Mark making describes the different lines, dots, marks, patterns, and textures we create in an artwork. It can be loose and gestural or controlled and neat. It can apply to any material used on any surface

Artists use gesture to express their feeling and emotions in response to something seen or something felt – or gestural qualities can be used to create a purely abstract composition.

I wanted to incorporate mark making as a reflection of my own expression towards my content in cultural identity.
Exhibiting my work
Since my topic is about the acceptence in cultural idenitty in a diversified society, I would like my work to present towards everyone, locals and foreigners. Coming as an international student, I hope my art work is able to present to other students too, that has the same problem as I did, helping them to cope with the cultural problem that able them to socialized naturally with the local here in New Zealand.
Kathryn suggested to present my art through Website. I think that is a brilliant idea! However I still wanted my audience to view my work presonally in the RAW Gallery, the feeling of viewing any artwork on the spot will definately expereince another sensation towards the work.
By doing so, I will create a Website on my artwork as a platform for me to advertise and attract people coming to the final exhibition and view my work personally. Who knows SIT might publish this content in their website, that will help the international students and local students in having a better understanding of acceptence in diversity.
Agenda for Week Seven One-On-One with Kathryn
- Discussion on Essay Mapping. (developing the next essay)
- Viewing one of my work
