What is the real meaning behind Modern art? Why is it so valuable? Is it the fame, money, status?

On the video, it is interesting how art is valued by society. So how does a person valued an art? Some of them are about cultural justice, some of them are just for fame. But how the world's top ten most expensive art relates to the topic for my upcoming essay, 'Primitivism' and Modern art.

Why Picasso is so expensive?
This is because at the last top three painting belongs to the one and only Pablo Picaso. Picasso is the ultimate luxury brand. Famous for being the most expensive artist in the world. However, does the all buyer bought painter for money or for love.
