Week 11 (7 May)

Week 12
Sister Wendy: Impressions of light.
Paris 1870
Manet, Upper class gentlemen.
Olympia: Depicts a prostitute laying on a mattress accompanied with a black servant. At the far side a black cat was shown.
later the group of impressionist appear.Starting to paint outside, changing how an easel construct. snapshot of a moment.
Painting: Impression sunlight
Manet, saw something that nobody is able to see. The colour, lighting, how wonderful he was able to combine everything.
Painting: The Orangeria .
The exhibition space makes the audience feels the moment of dream and beautiful world.
Renoir
Painting: Colours were pretty and sweet. he was capturing scene of daily life. The painting shows renior personality was still young.
Mary Cassette
Degas, commented on Cassette's painting, saying she paints too well to become a women.
Painting: Ballet Dancer. He was obsess with the black stage, the behind the scene footage. Body language was highlighted rather than the personality. Telling the statemen of the body, was it tired or enjoying.
Post impressionist.
Dutch, created a new way of painting. A technical and systematic way, that is the Pointillism. It is the principle and scientific analysis of a painting beautiful. He was Georges Seurat.
Paul Gauguin
His love towards painting made him leave his family to seek for his impression across the pacific seas.
Vincent Van Gogh
Return to northern France with the help of his brother, Theo.
He was a difficult person to deal with, then he turn to painting to release his energy.
A painting of a Church, there is no door. The movement of the church lifted the building up. after a while painting the church, he killed himself in the corn field.
He felt his life was such a failure, even killing himself was consider a failure.
