1. Malaysia is a multi-diversified country. the nationality is made up of Malay, Chinese, indians and the aboriginal people. Growing up in a diversified country could be beneficial but the discrimination between cultures has been going on for decades. Political parties uses cultural diversity as a "political tool" by favoring specific culture in Malaysia. (Explain) This issue deteriorates nowadays society in Malaysia. Does the people of different culture really hated each other or it is the mastermind of corrupted politician in Malaysia?
Malaysian sees positive attribution in diversity, however making the society unite again is difficult as the problem has grown bigger and bigger since the issue on the 13 May. [(How my art work is able change the perspective that has implied in nowadays Malaysia community?) coming to New Zealand ]
2.[How Cinderella story is able to convey my message] My final year project "The three Cinderellas" will express through three versions of Cinderella from the culture of: European, Malay and Chinese to identify the similarities across all three cultures. (specific scenes to be describe: Start, Middle, End)
This shows how similar we are despite our differences.
3. Fairy tales in different generation reflects on their own contemporary issue.(BOOK) [some example] In my project, I will be re-adapting the story of Cinderella to create conversations about the positive attributes of cultural diversity. Cultural diversity is an important aspect to be look in especially in nowadays' society. Research shows that a diversified nation able people to life a more vibrant and creative life.
