I came from one of the most diversified country in the world and that’s Malaysia. Although we are diversified, the community does not unite as one, creating many social problems in the community such as discrimination. The main reason of this havoc is due to the dominance of the past ruling political party in Malaysia, Barisan National (BN). I argue that the government has created the gap between different ethnicity in Malaysia. Barisan national has been the ruling party for the last 61 years until 2018. Throughout those years, the government used the same technique to win in every election. They created rules to focus in widening the gap between the three major ethnicity; Malays, Chinese and Indians, by favoring the Malays in education, loans and healthcare, and surprisingly it works. The corruption happening weakens the country’s wealth as years goes by, like the 1MDB. Malaysian hopes to seek for unity and acceptance in a society to create a better future for the next generation.
Changes:
First

I argue that the government’s corruption has created the social gap between different ethnicity in Malaysia. [Q1] The former political party, Barisan National, categorized Malaysian through education, creating a stereotype
Second
Many people in Malaysia understand the government is the source of the social problems [Q2] in Malaysia. (how the government czuse the social problem in Malaysia) [Q3] [Discrimination will be decrease when the community begin to accept each other.][Q4] I argue that without the government’s rules and regulation, Malaysian will be more united as they have to accept the importance of diversity in a society.[Q5] [Example] (Why im discussing the social problem in Msia) The main character in my project, reflects myself as a Chinese Malaysian. I use my Chinese characteristic and the Malaysian traditional clothing to represent the acceptance of diversity. [Q6]
[Q1]Remember to state how the government makes the society not unite. ** The believes of acceptance is important. (Accepting different culture has to live together in order to create a better future)
[Q2]Proposal social problem in introduction. And also, the situation in Malaysia.
Coming to New Zealand makes me realized the importance of acceptance in a society. [How Singapore and New Zealand look into diversity and how is this going to improve the community once diversity is reached]
[Q3]Focus more on the people aspect in diversity or government worsening the country. (politics)
[Q4]Ideology from recent election in Malaysia. How the younger generation views this aspect.
[Q5]Is this still relevant????????
[Q6]Next paragraph, how the European element relates to my own project. “Wanting the acceptance from the locals in New Zealand and also the acceptance of ourselves in this new environment”
To interpret this element into my story…
[How it is affecting my project? ]
Wanting to be accepted
I found out that speaking the native tongue fluently in a foreign country will makes you feel more confident and approachable.(Or acting like you are able to) The writer and producer of “The Joy Luck Club”, Amy Tan, Chinese American, confessed when she was in her teenage years, she refused to speak Chinese in public. She became an interpreter for her mother, of whose imperfect English she was ashamed. Coming to New Zealand as a student in the Southern Institute of Technology, Invercargill, makes me realize the importance of acceptance between different cultures during my times at the English course and main course. In English course everyone was like me, not having English as their first language. However, going to main course, I found that I have lost myself in a very new environment that takes me three years to slowly adapt myself. [How is it going to affect my work? Reflect. ] In my project,
-Appearance
-Many programs from the community that leads the way to multi-diversity.
-(New Zealand supports diversity)
** Methodology paragraph (that comes after my introduction)
