Art Theory: BVA 313 - 20/10/2019 (Final decision on project)
The American Action Painters (Fenstermaker, 2017)
Harold Rosenberg
Rosenberg conceives of a painting as an “arena,” in which the artist acts upon, wrestles, or otherwise engages with the canvas, in what ultimately amounts to an expressive record of a struggle. “What was to go on the canvas,” Rosenberg wrote, “was not a picture but an event.”
My idea of constructing a question for art theory is not to be similar as my research paper.
My research paper talks about my personal experience on diversity using traditional and modern medium to produce a mix media collage work.
It took a while to figure a topic to concentrate on my art theory paper. Suddenly I thought about the topic that I’ve discussed on my art history paper; diversity, globalisation, art economy global art and contemporary art.since I have not discussed what makes my work as a contemporary art, I might as well go with this. Another thing I wanted to discuss is fairy tale. Why I choose fairy tale to be my subject for my final year project, “The Cinderella”. Here are some of the question arise.
- What is contemporary art and how does it incorporate fairy tale…
- Will the dichotomy (difference between) of contemporary and traditional elements…
- Can the definition of contemporary art be illustrated through the traditional story of Cinderella?
- How can a traditional…
I thought of what Traci and my classmates advised me on our class last week.
Include theoretical terminology or one of the aspects towards theory; production, authorship, viewership and technology.
The first question that includes the highlighted term: Contemporary and Fairy tales.
- Can the definition of contemporary art be incorporated into the traditional fairy tale story – Cinderella.
I choose, authorship and viewership to divert in my project.
- How can an art work that is based on a traditional Fairy Tale story, Cinderella, visualized the contemporary issue towards diversity in society (Viewership) ?
But it still sounds similar towards my research paper.
** Authorship in arts
** Viewership in arts
- Is it appropriate to use the traditional fairy tale story, Cinderella, to visualize global issue though contemporary art shown in a public space?
· What I need to research in?
- The definition of fairy tale, and how can it incorporate specific times?
- Contemporary artist who uses fairy tale story to talk about contemporary issue.
