Studio/ Research: BVA 316/ BVA303 - 13/10/2019 (Mix Media collage - paper choice)

Mix Media collage is a work formed by a mixture of different medium paste together. My Plan toward "The Cinderella" merges modern (Digital Painting, Photography) and traditional method (Watercolour) of executing artwork.

Today I will be trying out the Traditional Method first. Bought some paper form the southland art supplies store. When I was there, I seek advice from the friendly owner, Sandra. Because a few weeks ago, I visited Katy (Southland local artist) and discussed on types of papers. She gave a piece of paper, quite thick and heavy. Immediately, I tried it at home and fell in love with it!

I hope to buy it from the store again, but there is no sign of that quality of the paper. But I have a feeling it might be the one that contains 100% cotton on a 600gsm paper. NAH will pass for that as my budget is getting tighter now. Adding from what I have at home, there are about 6 types of paper for me to choose from.

The one I have drawn a pumpkin on was the paper from Katy. LOVE IT SO MUCH!
However, the paper before is not my preferable quality for water colour and colour pencils.  (BUT a great one for drawing/ ink drawing)

Reading from left to right: Fabriano100% cotton (Rough) - Hot Press, white 300gsm; Fabriano 100% cotton - Hotpress, white 300gsm, white; DAS paper 120 gsm; smaller size Fabriano 100% cotton - Hotpress 300gsm, white; Fabriano 25% cotton- Hotpress 200gsm
In the end, I prefer using Fabriano 100% cotton - Hotpress, white 300gsm. Its the middle of everthing.

Medium: Watercolour and colour pencil.
** All remaining elements are planned to be present in this way.
